Teach those that are Prepared!

This past week we've come in contact with a newly married couple who are so prepared from the Lord. This doesn't happen often, where they're outright willing to do everything you commit them to do, and are so enthusiastic about the message we share. Usually we have to really encourage people to listen to our message, so we we're ecstatic when we met them. When we last met with them, it came time to say the closing prayer, and the couple was fighting over who was going to say it. That never happens.... needless to say, we're going to run with the miracle the Lord has provided!

I've learned a lot while being on my mission, and my testimony has grown so much in just basic doctrine. Nephi promises: “Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the words of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.” What is eternal life? It is where we will one day inherit a place for us and our families in the highest degree of glory. We will dwell with God, and become perfected in Him. Our families will be together forever, but only if we “press forward with a steadfastness in Christ.” and continue to do so, until our time on earth is over. We must have faith in Jesus Christ, learn of His life through diligent scripture study, and pray to our Father in Heaven often. As we do this, we will have desire to follow our savior, and become less distracted. If we do let Satan enter our lives, we can always apply the Atonement. We must repent, change, and become better. This basic doctrine really gives us an eternal perspective, which is something Sister Sorensen and I are focusing a lot on with our investigators. If we apply these things, we will see blessings!

I love you all, and I hope you have a great week!
Love, Sister Kirkby

P.S. Here's our jalapeno we planted when I first got to Ripley. It's getting HUGE.
